Clinches the “Championship Trophy” and Successfully Defended the Futsal Title

The AKU Olympiad’24 brought together passionate athletes, sports enthusiasts, and fans from all around Karachi. It was a thrilling showcase of skills, determination and sportsmanship held from September 4th to 15th, 2024 at the Aga Khan University Sports & Rehabilitation Center, Karachi.

The Olympiad commenced with spectacular Sports Events. There were 28 well reputable Universities from across Karachi, each bringing their own unique style and strengths. More than 1,300 students/athletes participated in the respected Olympiad.

IoBM Cricket Team Clinches T-10 Winner Trophy in 8th Students Olympic Games 2024

The IoBM Cricket Team triumphed in the 8th Students Olympic Games 2024, held on September 24th and 25th at Annu Bhai Park, Nazimabad. Their journey through the tournament showcased exceptional teamwork, skill, and determination. Under the leadership of Captain Bilal Khalid, the team delivered a series of outstanding performances, ultimately securing the Winner’s trophy and bringing pride to the institute. Their ability to remain consistent under pressure was key to their success.

Mohib Imran had played a crucial role in the semi-finals against MITE University, scoring a century that had helped IoBM qualify for the finals. In the final match against Indus University, the IoBM team had faced early challenges, losing three wickets quickly. However, Vice-Captain Malik Zain had stood firm until the last over, building a solid score alongside M. Ibrahim. On the bowling front, IoBM had impressed by restricting Indus University to under 60 runs, with Moin Rehmatullah taking two critical wickets at pivotal moments in the match.

Girls’ Throwball Team Lifts Runners-Up Trophy in 8th Students Olympic Games 2024

The IoBM Girls’ Throwball Team delivered a stellar performance, securing the runners-up position at the 8th Students Olympic Games 2024. The team exemplified true sportsmanship and made a significant impact at the university level. Matches results are as under:

  • Quarter-Final: IoBM vs. JSMU (2-0)
  • Semi-Final: IoBM vs. KU (2-0)
  • Final: NTA Yellow vs. IoBM (2-1)

Despite a hard-fought final match, the team’s resilience and dedication earned them the Runners-Up Trophy.

Boys’ Tapeball Cricket Team Wins Super Six Tournament

Adding to IoBM’s sporting achievements, the Boys’ Tapeball Cricket Team emerged victorious in the Super Six Cricket Tournament, held on September 28th, 2024, at MITE. The team displayed exceptional skills in this fast-paced format, and Bilal Khalid was named “Man of the Tournament.”

Reflecting on IoBM’s journey to victory, Bilal Khalid stated, “We worked tirelessly as a team, and our hard work paid off. This victory is a testament to IoBM’s sportsmanship and teamwork.”
