HEC Intervarsity Zone ‘M’ Men Table Tennis Championship 2024-25
The IoBM Men Table Tennis Team lifted the Runner-Up Trophy in the HEC Intervarsity Zone ‘M’ (Singles Event) Table Tennis Championship 2024-25!
The Championship was held on November 8th, 2024 at Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS). The Championship brought together around 12 Universities from across Zone ‘M’, Karachi for an intense day of competition.
In the Men’s Singles final, IoBM (M. Waleed bin Salar -Std 20211-31180) went head-to-head with IBA (M. Kaif) in a gripping match. Both players demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and skills. IoBM initially gained an advantage but faced challenges later in the game with IBA’s player ultimately taking the victory 3–1 to claim the Singles Event Championship Trophy.
In the Doubles event, IoBM’s (Abdullah Tabba Std 20211- 30502 and M. Jawwad Std 20211- 33104) advanced to the semi-finals, where they faced tough opposition and were narrowly defeated by Indus University.
A Historic Achievement for IoBM in the Sports Community
The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) has marked a significant milestone by successfully hosting the inaugural IoBM Super League (ISL’24). This groundbreaking event has established IoBM as a distinguished name in Inter-University Cricket Leagues. The event was organized by Sports & Students Affairs Department in collaboration with “Vanquishers” Sports Society and SHRS Society.
IBA Emerges Victorious, IoBM Claims Runner-Up Trophy 🏆
The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) triumphed in a nail-biting final, defeating IoBM by a narrow margin of 6 runs to secure the prestigious 1st ISL’24 Champions Trophy. The Championship highlighted exceptional talent, sportsmanship, and competitive zeal among the participating teams.
Event Highlights
The Championship kicked off with a Trophy and Kit Reveal Ceremony on November 16, 2024, at the IoBM Auditorium. Matches took place from November 18-28, 2024, featuring eight premier universities from Karachi competing in 15 thrilling matches. The Championship was inaugurated by Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Rector IoBM, at the Rashid Latif Cricket Ground (RLCA).

The Final Showdown
In the Championship Final Match, IBA won the toss and batted first, posting a challenging total of 159/6 in 20 overs. IoBM mounted a spirited chase but narrowly fell short, scoring 153/9 in 20 overs. Mujtaba Suleman of IBA delivered a stellar performance with 68 runs, earning the Man of the Match award. Mr. Talib S. Karim, President, IoBM, honored the event with his presence at the Naya Nazimabad Cricket Ground during the grand finale of the IoBM Super League (ISL’24). He commended the organizing team and participants for their exceptional efforts in making the inaugural event a resounding success.
Furthermore, the Championship is also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event promoted SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by encouraging the physical activity and supporting mental wellness. It reinforced SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing young athletes opportunities to develop skills and foster teamwork.
SDG 10 (Reduce inequalities) was embodied in the Championship’s inclusive nature, uniting diverse teams. Moreover, ISL’ 24 advanced SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by engaging global and regional audiences through live streaming and social media.

The IoBM Badminton Team participated in the IQBAL DAY Celebration Badminton Championship ’24 organized by YSO & World Athlon on November 10th, 2024 at the National Coaching Center (PSB). IoBM players showcased outstanding performances and sportsmanship and delivered impressive results:

Girls’ Throwball Team Lifts Runners-Up Trophy in 13th Culligan Boys & Girls Throwball Championship 2024
The IoBM Girls’ Throwball Team delivered a stellar performance, securing the Runners- Up position at the 13th Culligan Championship 2024 in the Inter University Girls Throwball event. The team exemplified true sportsmanship and made a significant impact at the university level. Matches results are as under:

IoBM Girls Table Tennis Team Shines in Prime Minister Universities Sports Olympiad 2024 at Islamabad
The IoBM Girls Table Tennis Team comprising of Maham Nadeem (20211-30884), Hafsa Tahir (20201-27563) and Shiza Nadeem ( 20221-31948) participated in the Prime Minister University Sports Olympiad 2024 organized by HEC at the Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad from November 20th to 22nd, 2024. Eight Sports Events were held in the Sports Olympiad including the All Pakistan Intervarsity Women Table Tennis Championship 2024-25 event
In the Women Single Event, the girls gave their best but could not proceed further into the pre- quarter stages. In the Women Doubles Event, Maham and Hafsa upsetted prominent teams and cruised into the Semifinals of the Women Table Tennis Doubles event. They defeated NUML University by 3-1 sets after a nail-biting Semifinals.
The Finals of the Women Table Tennis Doubles event was played on Friday, November 22nd between IoBM & Kinnard College for Women University, Lahore. IoBM after a tough fight and a great game lost against Kinnaird College Women University in the Final by 3-0 sets.
Scores: 11-08, 11-08 & 12-10.
